Short answer
Who provides commercial ice-machine leasing in Austin?
IceIceMaybe is a locally operated commercial ice-machine leasing and service business covering Austin and Central Texas. It is run by Sally and Neil McCulloch within the IceWorks network. Businesses lease commercial ice equipment with maintenance, repairs and service included, rather than buying a machine and maintaining it themselves.
Two different decisions
Do you want to own the machine, or have someone else responsible for keeping the ice coming?
Buying an ice machine
You now own a piece of commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Capital leaves the business up front
- Maintenance is your team's job, or a contractor you manage
- Repairs arrive unscheduled, at unpredictable cost
- Downtime is your problem to absorb
- Someone has to remember the machine exists
- Replacement lands on you again in a few years
Paying for ice capacity as a service
Ice is available at your site, and keeping that true is our job.
- No equipment purchase up front
- Maintenance is contractually ours, so it actually happens
- Repairs on covered equipment are handled, not quoted
- A fault is a call you make, not a project you run
- Nobody on your team has to think about it
- Equipment reaching end of life is our problem to solve
This is not an argument that leasing is cheaper. Depending on the agreement and how long you keep equipment, it may not be. It is an argument about who carries the responsibility — and for most operators, that turns out to be the part that matters.
Work through lease versus buyWhen the bin runs low
A busy shift does not pause because the ice machine did.
It fails during service. Somebody goes out for bagged ice. Somebody else works out where to put it. Drinks slow down. If it runs long enough, things come off the menu.
None of that is on the repair invoice, which is why it never makes it into the decision about whether to buy the machine in the first place.
You already run a restaurant, a bar, a hotel, a clinic. Ice equipment should not be a second operation you are quietly responsible for.
Your ice machine shouldn't become another job you're responsible for.

How it works
We start with how your business actually uses ice.
- 01
Tell us what you serve and when you get busy
You do not need a model number. Tell us what the ice is for, when demand is highest and what is not working today.
- 02
We look at the site
Where a machine can go, and what that spot can support. Plenty of equipment decisions go wrong because this came after the specification instead of before it.
- 03
Equipment is specified and installed
Chosen against your peak and your site together. The agreement sets out what is covered before anything is signed.
- 04
The machine stops being your problem
Maintenance, repairs and replacement sit with us. You report faults. That is the extent of your involvement.
Start with your busiest hours
What happens when the ice bin runs low in the middle of service?
- RestaurantsIce demand concentrated into service windows, shared between kitchen and bar.
- Bars & BreweriesIce is a direct product input, consumed in concentrated bursts behind a bar.
- Hotels & HospitalityMultiple service points across one property, some of them guest-facing.
- HealthcareIce reaches patients, so sanitation and consistency outrank cost efficiency.
- Coffee ShopsHigh iced-drink volume in the smallest footprint of any food-service category.
- Event VenuesLong quiet periods punctuated by very heavy, scheduled demand.
- Convenience & RetailIce is inventory you sell, so an outage is lost revenue with no substitute.
- Gyms, Schools & WorkplacesIce for people rather than product, at sites with no maintenance staff.

How IceWorks fits in
You work with us locally, with the IceWorks network behind the equipment.
We operate within the IceWorks network. IceWorks is the wider commercial ice-machine company; the equipment and the service model come through that network.
IceIceMaybe is the local part of that relationship: the people you speak with, the questions about your operation and the accountability when something needs attention. For company-level information about IceWorks, we link to the corporate site directly.
Straight answers
Common questions
How does commercial ice-machine leasing work?
You pay a regular fee for commercial ice capacity instead of buying equipment. The machine is installed at your site and maintenance, repairs and service are handled by us. You do not own the asset. The specific scope and terms are set out in your agreement.
Should a business lease or buy an ice machine?
Neither is universally better. Buying means capital up front and full responsibility for maintenance, repairs and replacement. Leasing means a predictable recurring cost with those responsibilities handled for you. If you have capital, in-house maintenance capability and a stable requirement, buying may suit you. If unpredictable repair costs and equipment upkeep are the problem, leasing usually fits better.
What size commercial ice machine does a restaurant need?
It depends on demand during your busiest service period, how much finished ice you can store, and how quickly the machine recovers — not on the daily production rating alone. Published per-seat rules of thumb vary between sources, so sizing should be worked out against your actual peak rather than an average.
What happens when a commercial ice machine breaks?
The operation still needs ice, so staff time and money go into sourcing it while a repair is arranged. If you own the machine, finding and paying for the repair is yours. Under a lease with us, you report the fault and resolving it is our responsibility.
